Three Books

I read recently the average college graduate reads no more than 3 books after graduating!

DONT BE THAT GUY!

Even if this statistic is half right and the average is six books that is still woefully inadequate. You must continually adapt and learn. Your adult life should be spent in the pursuit of becoming the person God has already called you to be.

He knew you in the womb and he set forth a path for you but you must reach it through your own actions. You need to own your destiny and continual self improvement is a requirement.

You will not grow in anything you pursue in life if you do not seek wise counsel. Research shows the most successful businessmen and women have on average 18 people in their lives which have impacted their growth into being successful.

Warren Buffett (one of the wealthiest people in the world) counts 12 to his fortune. It is not the quantity of your counsel it is the quality.

You want to get better at anything..... hang out with people better than yourself. You want to be a better leader.. hang out with generals, fortune 500 CEOs, top selling artists, Pulitzer prize winners.

I know what you are thinking. "I don't know any of those people." Well maybe not today. So, start with the person smarter than you in math class and work your way up to the Pulitzer prize winner.

Do you want a God fearing spouse with strong moral character? Well, he or she is not hanging out and nurturing a sinful lifestyle.

In the absence of personal mentors.. READ... PODCAST.. put away the video games and separate yourself from the crowd. Get off your butt and make yourself better. This is not something that is the responsibility of your parents, family, pastor or friends.

You hold the keys to your own success so take them off the key rack and choose a mode of transportation that will get you where you desire to go.

Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], But in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory. Proverbs 11:14
