Grace falls short in final season game

The Griffins fall short in their final game of the season after having the best offensive and defensive performances of the season. The team compiled over 400 yards of offense and put up a season high 8 touchdowns but it was not enought to overcome the turnovers, penalties and missed opportunities on special teams.


Offensively, the team was compiled 393 yards rushing while averaging over 13 yards a carry. Hunter Maxwell ran for over 200 yards for the third time this seaon gaining 223 yards on 21carries. Caleb McGahey added another sixty yards on two carries while Cole Campbell added three TDs and 60 yards on three carries. Only one time in the game were the Griffins stopped on downs and defensively the team was able to stop Community Christian three times on downs. The defense was led by McGahey (11 tackles) and Campbell (10 tackles) as the team chalked up the most tackles this season in a gamewith 38 total tackles.


In the end, the game came down to penalties (Grace having 20 more yards in penalties), turnovers (Grace 2 CCHS 0) and extra points (Grace 8 pts of 16 pts available and CCHS 11 of 16 points available).
