Five athletes scored touchdowns in Bastrop Tribe Consolidated’s victory over Jubilee, of San Antonio, 66-16 at home on Friday.
The contest ended in the third quarter because of the 45-point mercy rule.
Samuel Osborn, senior running back, rushed for 175 yards on only 5 carries and scored on runs of 34, 49, 45, and 41 yards in the first half. He scored a fifth touchdown on an 80-yard kickoff return.
But other Warriors (4-1) joined the scoring parade as well.
Ethan Mallett caught a 44-yard scoring strike from quarterback Chandler Golemon in the second quarter.
Hansen Collie opened the third-quarter scoring with a 56-yard pass from Golemon. Collie, a sophomore, has caught a touchdown in all five games.
Anthony Salas and Nathaniel Heilig added touchdown runs of 36 and 28 yards, respectively.
Tribe coach Brent Golemon said he played 18 of 19 athletes eligible to play, many of whom were freshmen and sophomores.
On defense, Travis Guy and Mallett each made 10 tackles.
The Warriors moved up one spot to No. 14 among all six-man football teams in Texas.
Tribe visits Johnson County Sports Association (5-1) in Cleburne on Saturday in a contest that pits the running of Osborn against the pass of Johnson County quarterback Joshua Wallace.
Osborn, a 5-foot-8, 160-pound senior, has zipped for 1,254 yards and scored 24 touchdowns.
Wallace, a 6-3, 170-pound senior, has completed 68 percent of his passes for 975 yards. He has 25 touchdown passes and no interceptions.
"Their quarterback is the best passer in the league by far, and Samuel is the best rusher. So it will be a great battle," Golemon said in an email.
Johnson County, which is ranked No. 29 in the six-man poll, suffered its only loss to No. 11 ranked Jonesboro 76-44.
Tribe running back and cornerback Rio Mata (shin) and linebacker Lake Mills (calf) return after missing three games because of injuries, Golemon said.
